玛格丽特·阿特伍德 (Margaret Atwood) 1939年生于渥太华，先后在多伦多大学和哈佛大学就学。她是加拿大最负盛名的作家和诗人，出版20余部小说、诗歌、短篇小说集和文论。

我像是突然走进了一场劣质影片，
它演着，演着，
我竟会莫名其妙地被它迷上。
我们在一种格言般的气氛中
慢步跳着华尔兹；
我们在无数盆栽的棕榈后相见，
而你是因为爬错了窗子才进来的。
其他人都已退场，
但我总是要坐到剧终。
我付了钱，我
想看看究竟会发生什么。
在缘分的浴缸里，我不得不
将你从我身上
像烟味和化掉的胶片那样
搓下来。
但我只能面对它，直到最后我
居然对它上瘾，
那爆米花和旧长毛绒的气味

We meet behind endless potted palms
You climb through the wrong windows

But I always stay till the end
I paid my money, I

In chance bathtubs I have to
Peel you off me
In the form of smoke and melted
Celluloid
Have to face it I’m
Finally an addict,
The smell of popcorn and worn plush
Lingers for weeks
